The newer medications have made it possible for consumers to return to many of the things they did prior to their illness. For some, this includes going back to school.
We, at NAMI Bergen County, know that the path to recovery is not an easy one. In acknowledgment of the efforts of those individuals returning to school, we have established a modest book scholarship.
It is our firm belief that with the new medications and an opportunity to complete their education, meaningful employment can be a realistic goal for consumers.
"We must accept finite disappointment but we must never lose infinite hope" - Martin Luther King, Jr.
The Sid Koblenz Memorial Scholarship is a local program of NAMI Bergen County and is not supported by either the national or state chapters of NAMI.
